Pancakes....

Some will know it as Shrove Tuesday.....Others may know it as 'Eve of Lent'...Others may know it as

Pancake Day!

We've been busy preparing for our grandchildren's arrival from School...The first 'Batch' pictured below....More to come....

Whatever you may...or may not want to call it....Some folks have much fun....apart from 'Eating Pancakes'....There has been a long tradition of 'Pancake Races'....
Hopefullly, the weather will not cause much of a problem for 'Pancake Races' today...if ever it can?

looks absolutely yummy. Hmm, no time to make pancakes for supper today, but maybe tomorrow in honour. I like Canadian maple syrup, hubby likes molasses on his... hmmm, where is that recipe for blueberry pancakes?

yep, Pancake day, but we will have my German Chicken Soup, one of my boys is ill and so that was the better choice.

I am on a diet and my kids only want my Pancakes which I refused to make because I would EAT THEM ALL

        Me too, he came home early from College yesterday and has been asleep most of the time.
        He is asleep now so I bring some Soup up to him later.
        
        He has a headache and stomachache, one of those things this time of year.

How interesting reading about the pancake races...those women look hysterical!!!

Your pancakes look delicious....could I have mine with treacle and ice cream please...the top one in the second pic would do nicely!xxxxx

    Lots of decadence here, Bushka - Hub and I have been out for an early Valentine's Day lunch before the rigours of Lent Pancakes coming up this evening!

    I'd probably have a couple of savoury ones with cheese, then a couple of sweet ones with lemon juice and sugar. When I was a kid, we used to have orange squash and golden syrup!

Ooh lalala! My, you make me drool! While I knew of Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday, I did not know there was a name for Tuesday (you will forgive me for being a Protestant; I think it fits well enough with my Scottish ancestry too). Thanks for the informative link, they looked like they were having fun. Made me wish I could join. Maybe I'll have to make pancakes for Saturday instead of waffles...you got me thinking. I'll take mine with plenty of butter, laced with maple syrup, and lots of love. Thanks for sharing, glad to hear you all enjoyed the pancake fest, complete with happy smiles and leftovers, eh?

    La, indeed, you make me wish we were close enough to drop in and visit each other, or take walks along your beach, learning how to take better pics and etc. Alas, last I checked Illinois is rather far for that just yet.
