Another New One.....

Actually, NOT 'Another New One....' but Another TWO.....
I'm a bit of a sucker for beautiful 'Flowers'..... You could read that metaphorically...as well...;
Out on our usual Thor's Day Shopping Gambit....I spotted a most striking yellow one in a Lady's shopping trolley.....
CUE.....An opportunity to strike up a conversation........
I soon left the Lass and 'Her Ladyship' minding their trolleys...(the shopping ones)..and hurried back to where I could retrieve my own 'Yellow Princess'....
Alas! None of those left....

BUT....

I came away with TWO others.....
Could have had more....

They are Orchids....smallish blooms....This species is called Cambria!
On a longish stem with many blooms....
Delightful...

      Just noticed you spend 20 years there.....Former student of ours - now a Dental Surgeon - lives on Jersey with his wife and son....We should make an effort to visit....x

        Indeed - a friend of ours, now probably retired or something was my dentist. Paul Liddiard.
        I wonder if the son goes/went to Victoria College. A very solid education. My son had been through 'pre-prep'; had been accepted into 'prep', and would have gone on to Vic proper, but we went to France. Yes.

        Vic goes as far as 'A' levels. Higher education is off the island. Vocational education is available at Highlands College. Of course, innovations may well have occurred. The name of Paul Liddiard is still there, with a dental connection, but whether the person is still behind the business or not is not known.

oh, fabulous...wanted to get some varieties like this but you can't buy them locally, and to buy them online is very expensive...three of mine are sending off new shoots and will be in bloom again...one has two stems, another has one, and another has just sent out a shoot of the old stem...LOL...they are wonderful plants... GBHs...XXX

      Not sure whether they always have them...as it is, the one I went back to get...had sold out...seems they had a limited supply... The bigger Tescos seem to have orchids fairly regularly....On your next Big Outing..? GBHsxx

Aye lucky you, the red is too lovely, velvety and richly crimson(?), though all three pics are attractive. How beautiful. Reminds me, I think that(orchids) is what the church used to give all mothers on Mother's Day back in my childhood, to wear on their dresses. La, I wish I could kiss the softness. Nothing like a lady dressed to charm, eh? I like it very well.
