Just gone Noon! Rather late arriving on this blog today; attended Remembrance Day Service - personally thinking about all the wasted 'loss of life' for whatever averred reasons....in Wars which could have been averted, but for the proclivity of humans to impose their 'wills and wishes' using brutal force - my thoughts were with and for ALL regardless....Loss of Life in Conflict...is Loss of Life!
So! Even the weather seems to echo my 'wintry feelings' towards the matter of Mindless Destruction of fellow humans....
Yet! One must never say 'the container is half-empty' - one has always to say..'it is half full'.
Have a Rewarding Sunday! May you engage freely with the Challenges and the Promises of another Beautiful Day!

Good morning!

There is a national service to be held on the Wednesday over here. Some folks get that day off and I am one of them.

One of the areas my Dad and I disagreed on was war. I'm totally a pacifist and marched against the Vietnam War while in university. I will go to my grave being against war. There are diplomatic means today which should avert all wars.

I shall be attending a service this evening feel so sad for all the poor people who have given their lives we must never forget their sacrifice wish people would promote world peace instead of fighting xx

A lovely post Bushka, and good morning, or should I say good afternoon! I feel that war is just horrible, terrible, there aren't words, but I also feel that the people who gave up their lives so that we could be free, should be remembered. If only in remembering them, we could see the folly of our ways!
I love the passage from the Vedas....wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all live by this credox

  Biggest problem sems to be 'Humans' themselves, or, to be exact, some humans who would sttop to initiating devastating conflicts for their own ill-considered ends... Too true...one needs to remember those who died..ALL who died as a result of War....

sweetheart i know how you feel, war doesn't solve anything.... however what i honour... those people where doing a job that they were asked to do. I thank them for making that decision for protecting this fair Isle.

There are some conflicts I wonder what are we doing there... however this does not take away from the fact good people have lost their lives doing what the government have asked them to do. In that respect I have no beef with those that are in foreign countries doing their jobs, my issue is with the government...

So I honour them completely and ask for protection for those who have fought, who are still fighting for peace XXX

  Oh! I seek no quarrel with anyone on this matter....I honour and respect the fallen - human lives have been...and are lost! I question the credibility of WAR - under whatever cicumstances....The whole subject and concept of War divides people...as though only one side fights for peace....THAT is VERY tenuous....XXX

moonwoman and I share ground. I argued so much for pacifism with my dad who just threw that old (now I know it to be state propoganda) challenge - 'what would you do if a man broke in to your house and tried to kill your children?' I always lose the argument, but still in my heart I remain a pacifist. War is for sociopathic psychopaths, the poor uneducated masses, and the brainwashed elite, and I should know. I've been there. How depressing.

Hi, I am another pacifist for your list.

I intended to go to our local War Memorial today, but unfortunately the heavens opened at the wrong tome. I watched the T.v., programme from the London Cenotaph.

It was very moving, I was surprised at the number of children marching, some wearing Dads or Grandads medals.

An Irishman read a poem about his dead son, which was so touching. About how after the marchers have done the March past, do the dead ones follow on, in their own march?

I think we could find other ways to end differences. But Man has always fought Man. We have to respect those who died for us.

  Indeed! One should resepct - and honour - those who died; not compromising our conviction that there are alternate ways to rsolve conflict...The 'mindset' needs to change radically! x
