Some, although as with most modern families they are scattered across the globe. Ouma and Oupa have sadly passed on some years back but they always encouraged us to 'praat die taal.'

That is certainly true....you seem to be quite 'at home' with the lingo....that phrase 'praat die taal' is a confirmed phrase....Just recently finished reading the Memoir by Andre Brink......in English; he wrote simultaneously in both English and Afrikaans....actually know Andre.....you must try to get hol of it....and read it!

I will thank you. Sadly I do believe Afrikaans is a dying language which is a great pity as it is a language that is quite useful and of great benefit but limited to only one country. Ouma would be so upset by it, but blessedly she did not have to witness the fact that 4 of her grand children don't speak their mother's tongue.
