I may not be alone in being a two-fingered keyboard man.....but, know not if this is the reason why some of my letters on my laptop keyboard are beginning to fade...parts already worn out....Letters affected already: R, T, O, D, N......I'm sure there are some 'nerds' among my 'buddies' who can throw some light on the problem....How can I remedy the problem?

Pro Thanks Tom! Do I just go and ask for a USB keyboard? Presumably one plugs it into a USB port? Will try the metallic paint bit....P's quite a good artist - adept with lettering.....Thanks!

Like Tom said you could buy a USB keyboard or attempt to paint on the letters but you could be forever doing that! x

Pro Oh, I've got the same problem...drives me up the wall sometimes...I stuck alphabet letters on them from my old video stickers but they've worn away too...LOL...I know I should repaint them on..it would make life so much easier but haven't bothered yet...know that if I don't look at my keyboard I can type perfectly...look at it and I'm lost....GBHs...XXX
Problem is that I have to look at my keyboard...

Pro I must try painting mine too sometime... and yes, had a good evening, thanks...hope you've had one too... By the way, my keyboard is a USB one and it's lost it's letters so maybe it would save you money and space if you did just paint your own keyboard...Mine is Microsoft's own too... GBHs...XXX

I have that problem, dont get a wireless keyboard coz it will keep stop talking to lap top.

Your keyboard on the lappy comes out and can be replaced think they are about £15

Pro Once you have repainted the letters on the keys - you could put a coat of clear nail gloss over the whole surface.
If you buy a new keyboard coat the keys very carefully with clear nail gloss.
It is probably acid from your skin that is wearing the keys out. Also if you type 'heavily' that will do the same as there will be more friction going on.
It may be coincidence but all the keys you mention are ones which form negative words such as don't, not,no, nor - maybe you type those words with more vehemence than others?
My keyboards always last longer than those of my menfolk. When I type there is a very gentle clicking sound. When they type it sounds like tiny elephants learning to tap dance

Guess thats the beauty of a desk top key board, usb, of course, either that or I am a very gentle tapper.

I had that problem too, so I bought a USB keyboard for about £5. You could paint the letters back on again with permanent metallic paint.
